On August 27, a sudden and unexpected Instagram post stunned a small corner of the fantasy enamel pin community as long-time pin seller, Blushsprout, an artist who creates cute and colorful merchandise based on characters and wildlife, announced a bittersweet statement publicizing the closing of her small business.

Blushsprout began with a heartfelt note to the community, expressing how it has been a wondrous seven-year journey for her. She highlighted the remarkable achievements she was able to accomplish and how grateful she is for everyone who supported her throughout the years.

She later disclosed her reasoning for closing her online shop; the years of continuously drawing, packing orders, and traveling for conventions have taken a physical toll on her health. They admitted to enduring chronic pain and pushing through it, but now understands that she cannot keep forcing her body to exceed her limits.

She revealed that any products currently listed on her shop would not be reordered or restocked and that her Patreon pin club would be shutting down as well. The final charge for the pin club was on the 1st of September.

Across all platforms, recent and former customers expressed their heartache for seeing such a spectacular pin creator go, but they understood the severity of her reasoning. They flooded her post with an abundance of love and support; allowing her to see the mark she left on the community.

A week after her announcement she uploaded another Instagram post, she wrote, “Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to share their Blushsprout memories in my previous post.”

She also mentioned that following the announcement her shop received a surge of orders and she now had over 1,500 orders to fulfill. The numerous orders helped her clear out a huge portion of her inventory. She was left utterly speechless by the outpouring of kindness from the community.

October 18th marked the final update for her shop, bringing the community one step closer to the end of Blushsprout. The update consisted of restocking several pins and stickers that hadn’t sold at her last convention, as well as, including leftover designs from her pin club.

“This is it…the final shop update for Blushsprout before I close my store and retire from art. Thank you so much for all of your support [throughout] these years!” she added.

Blushsprout has been an outstanding pillar of the pin community for seven years, and her farewell stands as a reminder of the magic that blossoms when creativity and community intertwine. She spread joy with every whimsical piece she created, and her impact on the community remains undeniable.

Supporters can still show their appreciation by visiting her shop one last time before it closes on November 30th.
